Executive Team

The following is a brief biography of senior management.

Paul Adkison

Paul Adkison founded IQMax in 1999 and serves as President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Adkison brings more than 15 years of experience in mobile technology solutions. Mr. Adkison’s vision of utilizing mobile device platforms to enable healthcare providers to perform complex clinical tasks enabled IQMax to become one of the first technology companies to deliver mobile healthcare software to physicians.  Mr. Adkison is a recognized leader in the area of mobile healthcare technology and has been invited to give keynote speeches at the request of leading technology, telecommunications, and healthcare companies at a variety of conferences including HIMSS, MTIA, and AHIMA. Additionally, Mr. Adkison has appeared on House Calls for Healthcare Professionals with Dr. Bill Crounse, Worldwide Health Senior Director for Microsoft, and has given interviews for a variety of publications including the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, HIStalk, Health Data Management, and For the Record.  Prior to founding IQMax, Mr. Adkison was involved in a variety of start up technology companies where he served in various senior capacities. He was a co-founder of Incenta, an Internet based affinity company (smart card technology); Thermo-dynamics, a manufacturer and distributor of heat management products for the OEM industry; and Amber Technologies, an engineering company that offers software, firmware and hardware in the thermal printer/kiosk and mobile hand-held wireless industry. Mr. Adkison received a BSBA in Finance/Marketing from East Carolina University and has studied engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Chris Updegraft

Chris Updegraft is Vice President and Chief Architect of IQMax. Mr. Updegraft has 14 years of experience in mobile software solutions and is a pioneer in the field of mobile healthcare technologies. Mr. Updegraft joined IQMax in 2000, and enabled IQMax to be one of the first software companies to offer sophisticated healthcare applications on mobile device platforms. Mr. Updegraft was the only member on the Microsoft Developer Advisory Council representing the healthcare industry. Prior to his tenure at IQMax, Mr. Updegraft was a staff consultant at SAE, a leading mobile software development firm, where he worked on mobile enterprise applications for Symbol Technologies’ mobile devices in the Oil and Gas, Food Services, Transportation and Logistics industries. Mr. Updegraft has also performed consulting services for leading technology companies including Fujitsu Microelectronics, Gemstar Development Corporation, O’Neil Kiosk Systems, and Vantage Marketing Incorporated.  Mr. Updegraft received a BS in Computer Science and Minor in Mathematics from Azusa Pacific University.

Chris Damvakaris

Mr. Damvakaris has 20 years of experience in leading sales, marketing, and product management teams for early stage and high growth technology companies, primarily in the healthcare industry. Mr. Damvakaris most recently served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Apptix, a leading provider of cloud based Unified Communications solutions. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Business Development and Product Marketing at Spryance, a leading provider of outsourced services to healthcare providers. Mr. Damvakaris has held strategic business development and management positions with NaviMedix, Spheris, QuadraMed, and Honeywell-POMS. Mr. Damvakaris received a BSBA from Old Dominion and an MBA from American University.

Peter Farnham

Prior to joining IQMax he served as a Technology Consultant for Hewlett Packard Americas, Consulting and Integration, Enterprise Microsoft Systems division. Mr. Farnham joined Hewlett Packard through their acquisition of Extreme Logic, and their software and infrastructure consulting practices. Mr. Farnham joined the Extreme Logic Infrastructure practice as the second consultant in the Carolinas. While at HP, Mr. Farnham provided consulting, design and implemented services for Microsoft and Citrix system solutions, for clients including Office Depot, Intercontinental Hotels Group, Lowe’s, Wachovia, and Carolina Healthcare Systems. Mr. Farnham previously was employed by Internet Operations Company as the Network Manager for their Charlotte, NC hosting facility.

Chris Harmon

Mr. Harmon is an IT professional with over fifteen years of systems integration, implementation and management experience. While blending technology with usability and market needs, Mr. Harmon has highlighted his expertise in the healthcare IT market, healthcare policy, and mobile technologies. Utilizing technology and healthcare market knowledge Mr. Harmon provides IQMax with the guidance to provide technology solutions that meet real world needs. As a consultant in the travel industry, Mr. Harmon led a document delivery consolidation system at American Express Travel headquarters. At Broadway & Seymour, a leader in the development and integration of software for the financial services industry, Mr. Harmon was instrumental in project management and software development. He has served as the Development Manager for Computer Associates Inc., a $5.3 billion software firm, involved in repository management and metadata acquisition tools. Mr. Harmon received a BA in Computer Science with a concentration in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
